What is the American Dream?
11/14/17 Weebly Quickwrite: Freedom + Conflict
The positive impacts in freedom and conflict is that order can be able to contain in the country. If freedom exists, then it would be an almost perfect government, and conflict, will be able to make sure freedom doesn't get abused. The negative impacts in freedom is that too much freedom can be dangerous, and too little freedom can be cruel. Conflict is necessary if you want to have freedom. The New York Times v United States was a conflict between the freedom of the press. Sometimes there is conflict for freedom, which means freedom comes at a cost. Order and Conflict are confusing paradoxes. You need order to contain freedom, but then that won't be freedom. However, no one has complete freedom, unless there is a country in Anarchy.
Ever since I made my goals, I started very bad, but now, I believe I am reaching my goals. For my ELA book, I am at my 3rd book by now, and I need to finish it and 5 more books. I have a B in P.E. and just need to get an A to finish my goal. For reading more books, I find it hard to get interested in awesome books, so usually it takes a long time to find a great book for me. In this class, I find it very hard to speak up. I rarely raise my hand in class discussions. On the days of the Quote presentation, I wanted to volunteer but was too nervous to raise my hand. My strengths in this class is that I know great ways to study, so I always get a B or higher in tests. As a writer, I rate myself as 5 out of 10. I am not that great at writing essays, since we only did 1 writing unit in Mr. C's class(Shakespeare), but I believe I can do better. I find it hard finding textual evidence, making hooks, and analysing TE's. What I find easy is everything else. For this class, what I want to work on in November is becoming better in tests and on essays. I think this is a good decision because I am not that great at writing essays and when I do a WPW Test, I usually get a 80%, which I do not like. I know it is acceptable, but I want to strive for a better grade.
F.I.N.D. Reflection for "The Crucible" 10/23/17
F: One fact about "The Crucible" is that people will scapegoat others without any reason or a dumb reason. One proof is that Giles Corey's wife is not letting Giles pray when she is reading books.
I: While reading about "The Crucible", I felt sad because many people during the Salem Witch Trials basically killed others for a reason without any proof. On the trials, it was a confess or die thing, making it completely unfair.
N: A new idea that I learned while reading "The Crucible" is that I am completely shy and nervous when presenting in front of the whole class. Right before I go up, my palms get sweaty and my heart is pounding. I would run the mile and get a vaccine than presenting.
D: A academic decision that I will make based the unit of "The Crucible" is that I will focus more on my analysis and research more about the topic I am researching about, whether it's for a project or for deeper knowledge.
